Here is how Assignments works in CoachNexa, step by step.
-
Open Assignments
Click Assignments in the sidebar. The page shows all tasks across every client, grouped by status (Pending, In Progress, Done, Overdue).
-
Create a new assignment
Click + New Assignment. Select the client, write the task title and optional description, set a due date and priority, then click Save.
-
Filter by client or status
Use the client dropdown and status chips at the top of the list to narrow down tasks. Click Overdue to see only tasks past their due date.
-
Track client progress
When a client marks a task "In Progress" or "Done" in their portal, a notification badge appears on your sidebar. Open Assignments to review their updates.
-
Add comments to a task
Click a task row to expand it, then type in the Comments box. Both you and the client can comment — use this for feedback, clarifications and encouragement.
-
Edit or re-assign a task
Click the pencil icon on any task row to edit the title, description, due date or priority. You can also move the task to a different client.
-
Close completed tasks
Click the checkmark on a task row (or open it and set status to Done) to mark it complete. Done tasks are hidden from the default view but searchable.
-
What your client sees — Client sees the assignment in their portal
New assignments appear in the client's Tasks tab with the title, description, due date and priority you set. Overdue tasks are highlighted in red.
-
What your client sees — Client marks it in progress or done
The client taps Mark In Progress when they start, then Mark Done on completion. Your sidebar badge updates in real time.
-
What your client sees — Client uploads proof of completion
For tasks that require evidence, the client can upload a file (PDF, image, document) or paste a link as proof. You'll see the upload in the task detail view and receive a notification.
Tip: Due-date reminders are sent to clients automatically (configurable per task). Tip: Use the description field to include resource links, documents or detailed instructions. Heads-up: Deleted tasks are permanently removed — use "Done" status instead if you want to keep the history.
